Fruth Pharmacy Says Goodbye to Sandy Keefer

L-R Sandy Keefer, Executive Assistant, Accepts 20 Years of Service Award from Lynne Fruth, President of Fruth Pharmacy.

Point Pleasant, W.Va. – (August 18, 2022) – Fruth Pharmacy had to say goodbye to Sandy Keefer. Sandy was the Executive Assistant at Fruth Pharmacy for 23 years. Sandy has retired to spend time with her family.

Sandy has often been described as the “glue” that held the Fruth Corporate office together. Fruth Pharmacy employees were dependent on Sandy to provide store supplies, help with scheduling store maintenance, providing customer support, and so much more. Sandy wore countless hats at Fruth Pharmacy and was always dependable, energetic, and diligent. The list of tasks that Sandy took care of are too numerable to mention and often went beyond the scope of what was expected.

Sandy also had the monumental task of organizing Fruth’s Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament each year. Each year the event was phenomenal.

Lynne Fruth presented Sandy with the Fruth Pharmacy Presidential Choice Award in 2020. The Presidential Choice Award is given to an employee that supplies the best store support across the chain. This award is not often awarded to corporate employees. Sandy set the standard for supplying support across the chain.

Although we are sad to see Sandy go, it would be selfish to ask her to stay. Sandy truly earned her retirement. Fruth Pharmacy wishes Sandy Keefer the absolute best. She has left us with many fond memories.

Lynne Fruth Guest Speaker at CHAMR Charity Breakfast

Point Pleasant, W.Va. – (June 15, 2022) – Fruth Pharmacy and City Ice & Fuel were featured at the CHAMR Breakfast, held at the new Hartley Community Center.

Two Point Pleasant based businesses were featured at the recent Charleston-Huntington Association of Manufacturers’ Representatives breakfast. City Ice & Fuel and Fruth Pharmacy both had their humble beginnings in Point Pleasant and have grown significantly over the past 70 years.

Lynne Fruth, President of Fruth Pharmacy, Speaks at CHAMR Breakfast

Lynne Fruth, President of Fruth Pharmacy, had the honor of speaking and gave a presentation on the history of how her father and mother, Jack & Babs Fruth, began Fruth Pharmacy and how one store and a desire to help their community turned into a legacy. The Fruth Legacy has focused on providing over 50 scholarships a year.

CHAMR is a non-profit group of manufacturers that support local businesses and bring awareness to the importance of “shopping, buying, and supporting local manufacturers.”

CHAMR also promotes charitable awareness throughout the community. CHAMR hosts dedicated events throughout the year and donate the monies from these events, such as the Charity Breakfast, to local groups like Café Appalachia, Union Mission, Manna Meals, and the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia amongst others.

Mark Lambert, President of CHAMR, stated, “It is sometimes complicated and does take extra work from everyone to truly buy local, shop local, and support local manufacturers and retailers. You will have to cooperate with one another in the give and take. It will take more than one location, vendor, or retailer to get all the items you are looking for. But never doubt that we are all stronger together. “Always remember, it may be difficult, but it can be done.”
