Stacie Ferrell Joins Fruth Pharmacy

Point Pleasant, W.Va. – (June 8, 2020) – Stacie Ferrell recently joined Fruth Pharmacy as Human Resources Manager.  Stacie first began her interest in Human Resources in high school when she was a co-op at GKN Sinter Metals during her junior and senior years of high school.

Stacie studied business classes during high school and was part of Future Business Leaders of America.

“I enjoyed learning the ins/outs of how businesses operate; not only the end-product but everything that leads up to it from a personnel stand-point. Having quality employees that feel valued is as important as producing a quality product or providing high-quality customer service.  Every day in HR is a challenge, but very rewarding,” Stacie shared about her career choice.

After graduating high school, Stacie continued to work at GKN until her son was born; she took some time off to focus on family.  A couple of years after her son was born, her career path took her back to GKN as the HR Generalist.  She worked in that position for over 9 years.

“I was looking for a new position due to salary staff restructure; I was hoping for an HR position and prayed for something close to home.  The role at Fruth Pharmacy provided both,” Stacie stated when asked why she chose to leave GKN.

Beginning a new job is a stressful situation; Stacie had to begin her career with Fruth Pharmacy in the middle of a pandemic.

“Beginning a new job in Human Resources during a pandemic is at a different level.  Due to the ongoing changes/additions to regulations, I had to read a lot of news, listen to briefings, and attend online learning sessions to stay current so I could share accurate information and answer questions correctly,” Stacie addressed the issue of COVID-19 during her transition to Fruth Pharmacy, “since my job began during the pandemic, face masks, hand sanitizer, daily calls and emails asking for guidance, is the norm for me.”

“Joining Fruth has been an easy transition – I don’t feel like the ‘new kid’ – each and every employee that I’ve spoken with has treated me as if I’ve been here for years and that I belong,” Stacie said about her time spent here at Fruth, “Teresa had a positive impact for the HR department and I want to continue on that path of improvement.  I want to get to know the employees and listen to their concerns and provide assistance in any way I can,” she concluded.

Stacie will celebrate her 1-year anniversary to husband Chuck on July 4th this year.  Their blended family includes 4 boys: Connor, age 5; Caleb, age 8; Chase, age 10, and Dylan, age 16.  Stacie is a graduate of Point Pleasant High School and resides in Point Pleasant with her family.

Fruth Pharmacy is a family-owned business serving the tri-state region of West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky.  Fruth has been in business since 1952.
